Robert C. Jones has left Patton Boggs to join the lobbying firm Alston & Bird as the leader of its legislative and public policy practice.
Jones will be based in Alston & Bird’s Washington office, where the firm’s legislative and public policy practice includes former Senate Majority Leaders Bob Dole (R-Kan.) and Tom Daschle (D-S.D.), as well as others from Congress and former senior officials from the White House, the Department of Homeland Security, the National Security Agency and a number of regulatory agencies.
Jeffrey Shane has rejoined Hogan & Hartson as a partner in the law firm’s Washington office.
Shane will be a member of the firm’s aviation and surface transportation practice group.
“We are very pleased to welcome Jeff back to Hogan & Hartson,” said the firm’s chairman, J. Warren Gorrell Jr. “Jeff is a very talented lawyer. The depth of his experience in both the public and private sectors, coupled with his notable presence in the global transportation community, will be terrific assets to our firm’s expanding transportation practice, both domestically and internationally.”
Clark Hill comes to Washington
The lobbying firm Clark Hill will open an office in Washington this June to serve as the hub of its growing government and public affairs group, led by John Van Fossen.
“The firm has had a Washington presence for quite some time, so opening a local office was the next logical step,” Van Fossen said. “The amount of federal work that our group handles has increased steadily for several years, and we’re looking forward to having the ability to offer our clients an expanded reach.”
Clark Hill’s government and public affairs group includes members from several practice areas and, in recent years, has grown, with several new members.
